There are no specific requirements to register a .nz or .co.nz or .net.nz domain name.

NZ domains are very quick to transfer from another Registrar.
You will need the eppcode which is a unique password for the domain.
You can usually see the eppcode / authcode if you login to the domain's management page
at your existing Registrar's website.

It is free to transfer NZ Domains and they will keep their existing expiry date when they
are transferred.

.com,.net and .org domain names can be registered for 1-10 years.
There are no specific requirements to register a .com or .net or .org domain name.
